News: Fisher Urges President Obama to Accelerate Job Creation Measures across Ohio

President Obama's Visit Highlights Need for Economic Solutions

Fisher Outlines Ideas to Create Good-Paying Jobs for Ohioans

With President Barack Obama visiting Lorain County today and a new study showing unemployment rising, Senate candidate Lee Fisher, Ohio Lt. Governor, urged the President to accelerate job creation measures across Ohio and the country. Fisher has proposed creating jobs by supporting small businesses, protecting and boosting manufacturing industries, and holding Wall Street accountable.

Lee Fisher said, "Today's report shows what Ohioans already know - times are tough and we need to redouble our efforts to create jobs across our state. It's time we support small businesses and make new investments in jobs of the future, not return to the Bush-Portman policies that dug this economic ditch in the first place."

Fisher has proposed the following ideas to create good-paying jobs for Ohioans and lay the foundation for long-term economic growth:

- Creating tax credits for businesses that create jobs

- Supporting small businesses by increasing access to credit

- Creating manufacturing jobs by investing in clean technology

- Closing tax loopholes that incentivize job outsourcing

- Increasing transparency and accountability on Wall Street
