Fisher Raises Over $780,000 In 4th Quarter

(Columbus) – Lt. Governor Lee Fisher raised more than $780,000 in the fourth quarter, bringing his total to more than $3.25 million raised since entering the U.S. Senate race in mid-February. Fisher’s fourth quarter figure rose more than 25 percent from the previous quarter, reflecting the campaign’s growing momentum heading into 2010.  The campaign has received broad grassroots support from across the state, receiving contributions from 78 of Ohio's 88 counties.

“Lee has had one mission throughout this campaign—putting Ohioans back to work and growing our economy,” said Fisher for Ohio campaign manager Geri Prado. “The more Ohioans learn about Lee’s career fighting to improve their lives and bring new economic opportunity, the more support he’s earned. In the midst of a terrible recession, the generosity of Ohioans in every corner of our state has been truly humbling.”

As a Senate candidate, Fisher has called for immediate steps to put Ohioans back to work, including a job creation tax credit and a reallocation of economic recovery funds to infrastructure and weatherization projects to maximize new hiring. He has also outlined his vision for comprehensive health insurance reform that would provide access to affordable coverage for all Ohioans; called for additional consumer financial protections; advocated for legislation to allow homeowners to avoid foreclosure; and supported efforts to stop Chinese tire manufacturers from flooding U.S. markets with cheap tires that cost American jobs.
